GCSE RESULTS DAY - THURSDAY 23rd AUGUST 2018

Your child has now finished all of their GCSE examinations and we trust that they are enjoying a well-deserved break before they embark upon the next phase of their lives.

This journey begins with the collection of their GCSE results and is the reason I am writing to you now.

All students will be able to collect their GCSE results on Thursday 23rd August from 10:00am until 12:00pm. Students should enter the building via the dining room entrance to do this and not the main reception.

Please note that students must collect their results in person. If this is not possible, then students can nominate a parent/carer to collect these on their behalf but they must give signed, written permission to do so. If the nominated person does not have this letter then regrettably, we cannot release the results.

We appreciate that some families may be away on their summer holiday. If this is so, you can provide the Exams Office with a self-addressed envelope including a postage stamp. We can then post these out to you.

Please note that no results will be given out by telephone under any circumstances.

Whilst we are confident in our students' performances, occasionally some may have narrowly missed out on a higher grade by a matter of a few marks. In these circumstances the academy may speak to students and parents about applying for a re-mark of the papers concerned. If this is to be the case, we will seek consent because a re-mark could result in marks going up or down.

Any re-marks which are requested without the support of the academy will need to be paid for by parents and before these can be sent to the Examining Board. Further information is available from the Exams Office on Results Day.

Finally, I'd like to make you aware that actual certificates will be available for collection in the new academic year. We will write to you nearer the time regarding the details of how we will organise this.

In the meantime, we would like to thank you, as ever, for your continued support and wish you a very enjoyable summer.
