Year 8 students embark on an Energy Quest!

Over 60 Year 8 students recently took part in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) Tomorrow's Engineers Energy Quest workshop funded by Shell and facilitated by Learn by Design.

The interactive STEM workshop gave students hands-on activities, careers information and stories from real engineers working in energy. The aim of the session was to raise awareness of STEM subjects and encourage students to explore the wide range of careers linked to these and not just the traditional engineering routes. The focus was on the energy issues that future generations will face and how our young people will be the ones discovering solutions. Students explored the concepts of energy generation, sustainability and technology in a fun, interactive way by building and racing mini electric cars. Here's to Kirk Balk's STEM superstars of the future!
